I'm never going to encourage the counterfeit market.

Re: Chinese Gibson (69 Deluxe Gold top)

counterfeit market is unethical and wrong.

Similiar shaped guitar market will get you some great buys.

Re: Chinese Gibson (69 Deluxe Gold top)

looks sketchy. "made in china, where labor is cheap!" while most of my house is probably from china, their presentation still rubs me the wrong way.

Would it kill them to have their ad copy proof-read by someone who's actually met a native speaker?

Re: Chinese Gibson (69 Deluxe Gold top)

But if they're such obvious fakes, what makes them so different from the Burny or Edwards copies? Simply because they have a different logo? They're copying the exact dimensions just the same. The logo/brand name is inconsequential, they're all making copies of a product that someone else owns, and hide behind jurisdiction to flaunt their lack of respect for trademarks.
At least the Chinese admit to making fakes by using the right logo.

Re: Chinese Gibson (69 Deluxe Gold top)

Looking at it from an ego perspective . . . why do you care what name's on the headstock? Usually people want the 'Gibson' brand because that company has worked for years to produce a certain level of quality in their instruments. That's a level of quality that you're bypassing completely by getting a knock-off. If you're not getting the quality, what's the point of getting the name on the headstock?

Looking at it just from playability perspective also, I wouldn't do it. Who knows if the guitar that you buy will be worth a crap, or sound OK? Maybe the wood that you can see is just a thin veneer . . . maybe the truss rod won't adjust properly, maybe the neck will start coming unglued from the body. Pick up a similarly priced guitar from Agile or another company that does inexpensive LP knock-offs but have a reputation for producing OK instruments.

hey guys , i know all this stuff ,but , as you can see this guitar have the 2 mini humbuckers , and today no one make a guitar with this pickups , i know that they are a very cheap copy , but i will change it . I will just keep the body and the neck , the rest i would change it.

Re: Chinese Gibson (69 Deluxe Gold top)

Don't do it. A friend of mine bought a chinese copy and it was a piece of crap. Tons of dead spots, didn't intonate properly, they use scarf joints to make the necks, and the strings were always buzzing. If that doesn't turn you alway, the chinese ALWAYS use lead to make their gold tops. He found some "grey stuff" (which was probably lead dust) in the neck pocket. Epiphone has different standards, but these guys don't play by the rules, so they will use it!

Buy yourself a p90 burny, edwards, tokai, orville, epiphone, or Gibson and just replaced the p90s for mini buckers. They should fit into p90 routes without a problem.

edit: Seymour Duncan even provides the adapter rings for the p90 route.

Double edit: oh man, I just saw the guitar.

They were either stupid or just plain lazy. They routed the body for humbuckers and then installed the mini buckers. The humbucker ring is there to cover up the wood they weren't suppose to remove. :smack:

dude these guitars are very expensive for me, and Chinese one would be much cheaper, and can be sure that after her arrival, she would immediately go to a luthier to make a revision on it, arranging everything that is outside the expected.

look ,I don´t think that's a humbucker ring , i think thats is just to occupy the little space that have between the mini humbucker and the wood.
that little space:

Look at smith's LP and look at the copy. That small space doesn't require a cover of that size.

I don't mean to knock you down, but I've learned the hard way that it's better to pony up the cash and get the real deal. Just know that if she comes with problems like my friend's guitar had, you're total price could be the same as or even higher than a epiphone or burny. If you go ahead and buy it, I wish you the best of luck.
