I own some killer CIJ Japanese Fender Strats. They can be great guitars and they can easily equal or better the quality of Fender USA Strats. They all need new pickups though...Lew
YUP! The CIJ Fenders and Early 80's MIJ Squire's are as good as the MIA.
Lew's right... The PuPs SUX ! But you are planing on putting Duncan's
in it anyway...Right? :laugh2:
na, he's got a point... there was something with the CIJ ones where the US stopped producing for a few years, so fender sent some of the US team to Japan, producing the CIJ's... supposedly this was the real hot zone in terms of quality..
the serial number troubles me on the one i'm buying though - it starts with an O. this would suggest MIJ rather than CIJ? help!
I just picked up a CIJ Strat and Tele and the quality freakin' blows me away. The Japan market ones do seem to be a bit better in quality than the ones imported into the USA in the 80s and 90s, but the import ones are still great.
