Hmmm well if you ahev ever used mesa Black Shadow C90s, it's almost the same as the CL80.
The CL80 has, as described, a kind of very clean, decently warm, balaned, with a little compression sorta mesa / ev tone. It's a good matchn with a V30 to warm up a cab and balance the cleans and get more lows, offset the V30 spikey tone.
G12H30s are very warm yet classic. They really are the V30 / Greenback crossroades. They crunch really well, they have the nice spike's and highs of the Celetion line, they bark, but in a fatter way, work well with single coils, and have a grindy sorta crunch. Very nice as well.
