anyway....

i was wondering what are your favorite pickup configurations for like that bluesy classic rock type stuff?

Re: classic rock pup thread

Depends on the guitar.

For my Tele, my fave combo is a Pearly Gates in the neck and a Hot Lead for Tele at the bridge (that's in my thinline).

In my LP, hands down the Pearly Gates set.

In my Hamer, I've liked the APH/Custom combo the best.

In my Strat, APS-2's all around.

In my Sheraton, I'm torn between the Seth Lovers and the Phat Cats.

Re: classic rock pup thread

As Benjy says, depends on the guitar. I favour Les Pauls and therefore humbuckers....

As Jeff says, Seths, Antiquities and '59s are all great. Alnico II Pros are excellent too. Depends on the tone you are after. Ants are warm, '59s are bright. Seths and A2 Pros sit somewhere in the middle - to my ears the Seths are slightly warmer.

The other likely candidates, humbucker-wise, are the Pearly Gates - I haven't tried those.

Well for me I know I can play classic Rock to old school metal with the 59N/C5 in my McCarty, The C5 splits real nice so I can get a few other styles as well!

Being mostly a humbucker guy, Custom Custom / Jazz neck. That combo just works for me in whatever I'm playing be it blues, classic rock or heavy metal.

Re: classic rock pup thread

I have Seths in my Gibson LP, Screamin Demon'/Pearly Gates in my Epi LP and a set of Antiquity 1's in my Strat.

They're all good for classic rock in my opinion :)
