Classic Stack Plus Picture

Someone was asking in a thread the other day what the new Classic Stack Plus pickups look like.

Here's a picture of a black one I got in today. They have a molded cover and a bottom plate very similar to the new style single coil size humbuckers with threaded inserts for the mounting screws.

It looks like you have to commit to a colour now... Are they covered or... ?

Re: Classic Stack Plus Picture

Yes, you must choose white or black. The cover is non-removable (I believe Evan said this was done to prevent damage to the coils)

Cool, that´s 100% more colors than most will need :D:beerchug:

So, does it come apart? I wonder if part of why the cover is like that is so it isn't easily disassembleable so people know all the specifics of the design?

Re: Classic Stack Plus Picture

Very cool. I need to get me a guitar to put some of those in. I think I'd like 'em.

Actually, if you want to know the specifics of the design, you can read the patent application: 20050162247. It's pretty revolutionary. You'll be impressed.

For those of us who are big enough geeks to care:laugh2:, is it possible to find that online?

OK, here is a shot of the back. Not your typical Strat pickup .....

Not sure if its supposed to, but on the left hand side of that picture it says Seymour Duncan Start pickup..a common spelling error among the forums but now its on the actual pickup?

No it doesn´t.. it says "start" then "Seymour Duncan Pickups" then "Strat Stack Plus" then "finish" ;)

Re: Classic Stack Plus Picture

You will notice that the four corners have solder joints, THe upper part of the pic has the "bottom coil" "start" and "finish" and the lower part has the "top coil" start and finish. Notice below the rail magnet (or whatever it is) It says "Strat Stack Plus".

Black is in stock now (hence the picture), should have white in a few days.
