What are you guys using to clean and polish your guitars. Can't see paying 4 bucks for a frickin rag at the local shop. You would think that when you plunked down big bucks for a guitar they would throw in the rag and polish for free but NOOOOOO!! extra 10 bucks,Oh for the good old days.

Re: Clean Guitar

To gets the right cleaning you gots to pay the right price. That being said I never really clean my guitar because the tech does it when I get my guitar setup. Most of the guys here in San Antonio do a quick polish of the frets and the body before giving it back to you. I figure I do it often enough that it warrents me not cleaning it daily...

Re: Clean Guitar

Car wax called Merle on the body and back of the neck put on with an old t-shirt

Re: Clean Guitar

Do you really need a special cloth for poly? I could see nitro, but most poly finishes seem to be pretty tough.

Re: Clean Guitar

Steel wool and some hot soapy water seems to work well to clean up the finish on my guitars.

Actually, I use a Microfiber cloth and Fender mist and wipe polish.

Re: Clean Guitar

I broke down and paid $2 for a microfiber cloth from Walmart (actually, it may have been less than that). I have a bottle of Dunlop that I got several years ago that still has some left.

Re: Clean Guitar

Any over the counter polish will work fine. If yyour guitar has a lot of grime on it ir the infamous forearm mark. This stuff is really good

It comes in a few flavors. I like the medium oxidation. Works great!
