Cleaning a Fretboard

Re: Cleaning a Fretboard

Breath on it and wipe it off with a soft clean rag.

+1, no problems using a bit of warm water a light detergent (soap) as well, assuming the back is also finished ;)

Re: Cleaning a Fretboard

Have you used Fast Fret as a fretboard cleaner before? Does it work well?

I use Fast Fret, but only as a string cleaner/lubricant, and it works well for that. I've never bothered to stick that big stick into the fretboard.

Re: Cleaning a Fretboard

Well, I've used it on my rosewood fretboard, and it seems to make it nice. I generally give the wood between the frets a wipe with it when I'm changing strings and I have a bare neck in front of me; it certainly isn't gonna cause any harm, that's for sure.

Or you can use some Naphtha (zippo lighter fluid). I use it for every bit of cleaning my guitars, and it does wonders. I use it with a planet waves soft rag thing. One of those microfiber ones. Know what I"m talkin about?
