I have an 83 LP custom and for a few years I've had a Seymour JB in the bridge. I play through a Marshall '78 2203. I wanted to get a more open sound so I recently got a Gibson 490T (abasically a 57 classic with an A5 instead of the A2). I love the sound of it for chord work and and it's got the extra clarity from having a lower output that's hitting the spot but for single note leads it seams thin and loses it's oompf. Is there another p/u Duncan makes in a similar output range (to the 490T) that may be thicker/warmer on single note leads withut getting muddy on the chord work. I've tried the 59 before and didn't care for them.
