Hello everyone. I just got a Hot Rodded set as a replacement for my Ibanez stock pickups. The guitar comes with a HSH configuration but I'm only replacing both humbuckers and leaving the stock single coil in the middle.
The stock humbuckers have 1 red and 1 white wires whereas the SDs have 4 different wire colors. The different wiring scheme is confusing and I'm not exactly sure how to split the humbuckers in order to maintain the default options I have now through the 5 way switch (neck, neck south+middle, middle, bridge north+middle and bridge).
The SD wiring diagram doesn't mention how to split the humbuckers and I've found a couple of old threads but most of the diagram links provided have since stopped working.
Should I solder the red+white wires in the SD to where the white wires in the stock humbuckers were soldered? This seems like the correct way to do it but I need a second opinion.
This is the original Ibanez 1570 wiring diagram.
Let me know if I haven't explained myself correctly. Any help would be appreciated
