Color of JB underneath Chrome cover?

I came across a cheap JB locally, but it has a chrome cover, if I remove it, what color will the bobbins be? I'm looking for black, thanks

There's no real way to answer that. In the "old" days, you might find double cream. But not likely.

95%+ itll be double black. id be surprised if its anything else

Remove one of the adjustable bobbin screws and you can at least see one of the bobbins. (Or just sink it below the cover until you can see the bobbin color.)

It should be black. I would grab if it is a deal. If it turns out to be zebra you should be able to flip it for a little profit pretty quick

I recently removed the cover off the Duncans that came in an LTD EC-400VF, and they were both black. One of them was a JB.
