combining cabs (OHMS question)

errr sorry guys, one more dumb question and then i'm done.

i've got an 8 ohm 1x12 cab and an 8 ohm 2x12 cab. If i plug both of them into my Bassman, I'll have a 4 ohm load, right? i think i remember that from electronics class but a lot of the formulas i've learned in school are hazy memories at best.

Yes, it will be a 4 ohm load, but it will be splitting the power equally between the cabinets, not between the speakers, so the speaker in the 1-12 will be 2X the power of each of the speakers in the 2-12.

this should be a great all-around rig. the 1x12 is a guitar cab and the 2x12 is for bass. it'll at least satisfy me until i can save up for that ORANGE 4x12 i'm always dreaming of...
