combo to cab conversion

well, i used to have a crate 2x12 combo, then i sold it, now the guy wants to sell it back to me for $30, but the only way i'll even want it is if i can turn it into a cab, a 4 ohm cab, im pretty sure it runs at 8 ohms now

so how do i go about doing that? Radioshack part numbers would help.

also, is it hard to change grill cloth? I want it to look fendery

Buy two 8-ohm speakers and wire them in parallel.

I'm not sure this will help, but all you need to do once you've got the speakers is run a head through the FX return... it'll bypass the pre and poweramps if I remember correctly, and it'll be like plugging your amp into a cab. In theory, anyway.

well they're wired in series right now, they need to be rewired in parallel

and i planned on gutting the amp itself
