Comments on the sh-15 please

Could someone tell me what it sounds like?
I really like the Custom and I see that the sh-15 is pretty close on the tone chart, a bit more mids. Also the Custom and the 15 have different mags. How does that affect the differences in tone?
I've got a custom in a LP and is brutal good.
What might I expect of the 15 in a king v? Or any other suggestions for a king v pup?

I don't know that anyone is going to be able to tell you as the SH-15 was just released at NAMM last month and I don't even know that it has hit the shelves yet.

I just ordered one from one of the few that have been released. I'll post back with results once I put them in my Les Paul

I'm dying to know, too. I plan on replacing the JB in one of my guitars and am trying to decide on Custom, C5, or A8. Having someone's subjective experience with SH-15 will help me to decide between the three.

Just so you know, I'm putting this in a Les paul, Elixir strings, rolling bridge and a brass nut and it will be played through a Marshall Jcm 800 50 Watt combo

I have tried the custom 5 in an explorer. Its awesone in the bridge position because it has an extended low end and naturally the bridge postion of ANY pickup yeilds less low end

I just got the sh-15. I finished wiring up the pup in my Les Paul around midnight, but i could not turn my amp up loud enough to get a good deal of sound (I would never hear the end of it from my parents), but it sounds good so far.

I Just tried (at full volume) the SH-15 with a Duncan Distortion in the neck. There is no one way to describe the SH-15

First off, there is a who lot of low end, but it's not muddy
A hell of a lot of mids
Treble that bites, but is not harsh at all (unless you boost the hell out of your treble in the amp.)

IT's LOUD, It Screams, it bites, it growls, it sings, more than one word to describe it

I Have some Clips of the Alternative 8 in action.

There not of the greatest quality because I used a simple computer recording program.

It sounds a lot like an ALT5 but with an A8 magnet in it.:friday:
