I have a senheiser E606 which is really good for picking up bass and treble, and prety good mids, can anybody recommend a dynamic mic that will pickup the mids that really cut through the mix?

Mic'ing a guitar cab and would like a mic that specialized in mid frequencies if there is such a thing.

Yes, I know the title says 'condensor' mic, thats my mistake LOL

Have a you tried a Shure 57? The Audix i5 is another good choice. They aren't midrange oriented, but work really well with guitar frequencies.

Dial in the sound you want on your amp. I think it's the best way to record anything, get it on tape/disc the way you want to hear it.

This is the frequency response for your mic, it should be fine.

In terms of cutting through the mix are you compressing the guitars in the mix?
