Connectivity and Wiring on a Les Paul

I forgot to ask a question in a prior post about replacing my Gibson 490R neck pup. I'm looking at the SD 59' and the Jazz. The Jazz is 4-con like my Gibson 490R. The 59' says 1-braid con. Will this present a problem during installation? I apologize for my ignorance in this matter. I am having a shop do it for me and they did a great job on the bridge pup.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

Unless you have coil taps set p it won't make a difference, the 59 can be ordered with 4 conductor as well.

Okay- I didn't realize it came in 4 conductor as well. That's great information.

Re: Connectivity and Wiring on a Les Paul

Season's Greetings! :-D

I would be very interested if someone could point me to 2 wiring disgrams, please?

1) I want to wire a 2 HB 2tone/2vol 3way toggle so that the neck pickup can be split/tapped by a push/pull whose pot vari-taps(spin-a-split as Seymour would say!) the bridge pickup; each pickup has its own volume pot & I don't want to alter the guitars appearance

2) as wiring 1) above but with the '50s wiring mod.

Thank You for your time!

Re: Connectivity and Wiring on a Les Paul

I cant help you with the first but 2 I believe it's where the capacitor goes in the circuit.

This is how the cap should be wired to the pots how that would work with the push/pulls I dont know
