converting a combo to a cab

Looking for Real Life
how do you go about doing it? Say you wanted to run a bassman head thru a crate combo, bypassing both the pre amp & power amp, just using it as a cab

Re: converting a combo to a cab

If your speaker has a 1/4" phone plug connected to it, like a vintage Fender combo amp would, you can buy a mono coupler that allows you to connect two guitar or speaker cords together to make them into one long cord. You'd plug the 1/4" phone plug attached to the speaker into the coupler and then also plug one end of a speaker cord into that and the other end of the speaker cord into the speaker out of the Bassman head. Do not use a shielded cable guitar cord for this...use a speaker cord. You can buy the coupler at radio shack. Lew

Gosh, I can't anything simpler to do...other than replace a tube! Pretty cheap? Sure, but why not do it yourself?

Re: converting a combo to a cab

haha, i'm just not sure if it'll have those phone plugs

I'm buying it from a friend that knows jack about, well, anything, haha, and i have no use for it except for a cab, so i wanna make sure i can make it into one
