and thanks again

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

cool stuff, check out Born Ruffians cover of Knife, i kinda like it.

How do you like Veckatimest? I'm sort of undecided, some highlight tracks that are excellent, but overall i like Yellow House better I think.

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

Not bad. Its tone reminds me of Jean Michel Jarre's "Rendez-vous" album. I was not ready for that change in the middle :D

will do.

Veckatimest...its not yellow house, thats for sure. it has its ups and downs but I like yellow house better myself. the reason veckatimest is more liked in general is because the spaciness of Yellow House was a bit much for some people, but I liked it. though at times, they did let it breath a bit much

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

yea i can agree with that. I remember youre an animal collective fan too? Man, me and my girlfriend roadtripped to philly to see them, it was phenomenal, best show ever. They did a 15 min take of 'Fireworks' that was beyond words ha

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

dude, that sounds amazing. animal collective is my favorite band...if I have one at least. I had tickets to see them but I got scheduled for work....son of a gun....

the tickets were at first ave, which is a great venue...al general admission. I was pumped. After the Merriweather (album of the decade) release.

I like MPP a lot, but I wish they would've have varied the style a tidge bit more as in Strawberry Jam. Its definitely my favorite album if not, top 3

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

yea, Its hard for me to choose between Strawberry Jam and MPP, I think Strawberry Jam has a little more edge to it, but also requires a little more active listening. MPP is much more easy to listen to and just enjoy. They played a great setlist at the show i went to:

In The Flowers
Who Could Win A Rabbit
My Girls
Summertime Clothes
Leaf House
What Would I Want Blue Sky
Fireworks
Lion in a Coma
Daily Routine
Brother Sport
Encore:
Bleed
Also Frightened (no more running outro)
Slippi

btw, check out this thick beat remix of "Daily Routine", its not a crazy remix but I like the big beat set to that song:

holy crap dude, that is a great set list. My favorite moment on MPP is the brickwall collision/synth-splosion on In The Flowers

I'll check that remix and tell you what strikes me

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

lol, I like how you offset the vox that much.

its solid dude....I'm grooving to it. you preserved the intent of the song fairly well I think

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

theres a sweep or something about 1/3 of the way through that just mind ****ed me

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

btw, what do you think of Water Curses...not necessarily the EP, just the song

Re: cool instrumental (grizzly bear/Knife instrumental)

Water Curses is a cool song, i like how its so oddly constructed for the first 2 minutes and then turns into like an easy "majory" sounding melody and beat at the end. Its cool.

indeed. Its really cool. Grass and Who Could Win a Rabbit are my two favorite songs, but on the flip side....they both came off albums that I don't like in general.
