I did for a few weeks
It never worked
The electronics were jacked up and I was way to young to sort it out back then

I ended up taking it back to Sears

Seemed like a cool idea

the one in my link is reported functional

I would like to have one that is functional

I mean it seems counter intuitive to buy an Effector with no effects


even when new, the effects were not boutique

No offense taken. It's just silly how people are willing to overprice poor quality guitars because of them being a novelty or of questionable vintage.

I see the guitar as basically a $200 guitar at best
with $20 worth of extra hardware
if the electronics work then I could see adding another premium

I just ran across it while looking for something else

I was just wondering if anyone had one that actually worked?

I think a guy around the corner from me had one back in the 80's
but we weren't friends at that time or now
so I have no confirmation of that

just curious if anyone had one and if everything actually worked, would it be something worth negotiating for

Needs a pickup selector anyway. Why not just get out the probes and get one working again? Switches can be replaced, even on PCB/SMB stuff.

Gretch did a Super Axe with way too much built-in stuff. There is a version of it without the effects called the Hi-Roller that is one of my bucket list guitars.

Gibson did something like that too. I think it was the Les Paul "Recording", or somesuch.

Reggie May (The Mod) had the bass version of that Les Paul.

The Gibson Personal, Professional and Recording were different in that they had low impedence pickups, passive tone stack, and no effects on board. The Gretch and the Cort actually have effects on the guitar.

As much as I enjoy guitars and electronics, those really look cheesy. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the control layout. Just slapped in haphazardly.

Wow those tuners look like bottom of the barrel hardware.

I'd stay away. Or spring for one of those Japanese 70s Electras that were at least solid guitars at their core, modules or no modules

I just saw one on reverb when I was looking for something else

Then today I went to Aliexpress to browse and saw their version

Which seems oddly timely

And so many versions. Wow

My experience with the Aliexpress guitars,
Is all the hardware and electronics need to be replaced
That just looks like it would be gimmicky at best

The headless and acoustic versions look interesting
But not enough for me to order one
