cort guitars

Re: cort guitars

yes. they're great guitars. my brother was supposed to buy an M600 model it was out of stock so he bought a PRS SE.

Re: cort guitars

Used to work in a store that carried them. Great guitars, especially for the money. I always liked the Matt Murphy models.

Re: cort guitars

I've changed strings on a few, but they weren't Lefties so I couldn't say how they played!

I thought they were fairly decent! Especially for the money!

Re: cort guitars

Cort is a Korean company that either makes - or has made in the past - tons of brand name instruments for other companies. When Epiphones were made in Korea, Cort did the manufacturing. That's just the one example I can think of off the top of my head. I think they also made the Lite Ash Strats for Fender.

If you see a Korean-made guitar, it was either made by Cort or Samick.

Re: cort guitars

the other guitarist in my band plays a X-TH and it 's a really good guitar.... great sustain, playability and nicely finished :)

Re: cort guitars

I had a Cort that was made of particle board when I first started playing.

i agree. bigger companies pay the cort factory to produce guitars for them, take epiphone and ibanez for examples. MIK Ibanez guitars are made in the Cort factory in korea.

Re: cort guitars

Cort also make the MIK Schecthers. My friend is a Cort dealer and they are excellent guitars. IMO their guitars are a little nicer than the guitars made by Samick. He has both in his shop and the fit and finish on the Cort guitars is definitely better for the money, IMO.

Re: cort guitars

mmm...that M900 really looks nice. might save up for one.

My bro is big into Santana and the whole Latin Rock thing, and he is thinking of getting another one, after he traded his for a Gretsch.
If he traded that guitar for any other, * I * would have kicked him into the next time zone . . .

. . . it really is a fantastic guitar, and can not be beaten for the price.

IMHO, that guitar is sooo good, i would keep it in stock trim, if i ever got one.
NOT many guitars i can say that off !

My 2cents

still thinking about that M900 or a PRS SE Custom Semihollow. i'm really diggin those two guitars, but i can only have one of them. the M600 is a solid guitar. i'e tried it once and it has that nice tone, better than the SE standard, imo. but when i got back to buy it, someone beat me to it.

Re: cort guitars

Cort? They make gutars with the best price / quality ratio IMO that means: for the money you get a little more than expected. Recommended stuff.

My current favorite guitar was made by Cort, for Fender for Squier in 2005.

:eyecrazy:

So, in my RKH (band) days I play a Squort '51. I can see.

Nice modded axe, anyway.:headbang:

Re: cort guitars

I had an M900 for a while. Very lively tone, and the stock pickups were surprisingly good.

That is what got to me too . . .

. . . the stock pu's was actually very good out of the box !

It did that Santana tone (and sooo much more) with utter ease !!!

And the guitar was/is so light !
Very comfy while sitting, and very ballanced while standing !
Don't know anything about any other Cort guitars except the Evil range that my local store used to have. Bu seeing that my bro owned one for 2 years, if not more, i had some serious play time on it ! Sounded beautifull through my AC15 !

Re: cort guitars

I have two Cort guitars, a G260 and a MGM, and am satisfied with both. Previously a had a Cort CL-200 but weren't happy with it. It had a very good neck and fingerboard - that was the reason my friend with more guitar knowledge bought it to me as a first guitar. He thought that it must be much more expensive then what he paid for it (200 euro). Anyway the problems I had with it were:
1. I liked the neck pickup for a bit dark jazzy sound but it was not good for anything else. The bridge pickup was too nasal sounding.
2. The bridge was situated wrongly. It was impossible to intonate it correctly (fretted notes where a little sharp even when the saddles were so far back as possible). In practice it didn't matter much but it bothered me anyway.
3. It lacked sustain - maybe more with some notes than others.
4. As a personal issue I found bending and vibrato a little too hard because the flesh of my fingers rubbed on the fretboard. My friend didn't notice any problem but I wanted higher frets. I have been happy with both the G260 and MGM in this regard.

So I agree that Cort guitars are good for their price.

(Sorry for my clumsy english.)
