Could this be a 1985 made in Japan fender strat?

I have found for sale locally a guitar that the owner claims to be a 1985 made in japan fender strat. Until now i haven't got the chance to go and try it (i will do so soon) but he sent me some pics. Judging from the pics could it be what he claims it is??? How are the made in japan strats of that era?(The price he is asking is 390euros which would be about 500$ including a hard case)

guitars from that era should read 'made in japan' not 'crafted in japan'. after that check the serial number here.

if permitting, you may wanna remove the neck and check the stamping on the butt as well as neck pocket. that may tell you a few things.

my only problems with that guitar are the vintage radius and the vintage frets..............and the fact that somebody else called the seller before i did
