Can this Powerblock amplify other instruments??? (ie. vocals, bass, etc?)
And does it sound TOTALLY flat/even, like a stereo/hi fi amplifier??? Or is it voiced for guitars?

After importing from overseas and paying taxes plus the USD/AUD rate exchange it's hard to say if it's worth it. I've seen them go for $350 on ebay. I don't need one at all but my mate would certainly benefit from owning a PB.

Theres no import taxes for USA imports under a grand (as far as i know, i've never been slugged with it)
Not sure about shipping cost though......but i reckon it could arrive at your door for under 200 aussie bucks

I'd like to know this as well, perhaps it could be used as a ukulele amp..In that case it would be best if it's totally uncoloured, so the true tone of the instrument shines through, I guess.

Ive heard they are great for other things and many reports of bassists using them.
they are just a power source. they dont have any gain or coloration..

Totally false, sorry. They have a preamp onboard with a 3-band EQ and gain. The gain is not bad. Not high gain by any means but pretty crunchy.
The preamp can be bypassed though by connecting to the "Line In" on the back.

No, it's not. There is a 'cabinet emulation' that is on all the time, the only way to defeat it is to take the preamp out and then return it into the RCA jacks (for 'playalong' with a CD).
IME it doesn't make a big difference with guitar or bass, it just trims some highs off, but it is certainly not 'flat'.

They tanked in the market. Loud Technologies bought Crate from SLM earlier this year and is unloading inventory. AFAIK there will be no replacement.
