Crazy pickup problem

So recently I upgraded the bridge position of one of my guitars to a JB. It originally had an HB-103B in it. (A "Duncan designed" pup) It worked great for a while. but then I started to have problems. Here is the problem:

At first, when I would turn up the gain, the gain would not go up. But, when I pushed the blade switch to the side and held it there it would work fine.
Now the pickup won't even play unless I am forcing the blade switch to the side.

Here are some wiring pics, the wire I am holding in my hand is the wire to the JB

Thanks!

Re: Crazy pickup problem

Sounds like the switch is where the problem is. The JB is getting shunted to ground unless you lean on the lever, which causes everything to work fine. So, leaning on the switch would appear to breaking the JB’s path to ground.

Yes, it is my guess that it is the cheap switch. It might be worth just replacing it rather than track down how it is grounding the pickup out.
