Thinking of getting a little nuts and ordering an all maple San Dimas style strat body. Either vintage strat trem, or hardtail-- leaning towards the hardtail.
Depending on who I order from, it'll either be soft maple or hard rock maple. Most likely soft maple as it should be considerably lighter than hard rock (but still heavy). I just like the idea of a really hard strat body that lets the pickup really do it's thing. Plus I keep listening to old Dokken and watching Lynch's stuff-- maybe that's my problem
Would this just be crazy? Should I just knock it off and go with alder or something more traditional?
