Crybaby from Hell

Re: Crybaby from Hell

i own a crybaby from hell and i couldn't be happier with it. the thing has enough knobs on it to get any sound you would ever need from a wah. as for the noisy comment above...the only time it's noisy is when you push in the red boost switch on the side of it (and it's supposed to be then)....otherwise. leave the boost off and it's just as quiet as any other wah i've used. i'm not a huge wah user or a pro when it comes to them but after playing a few i went with this one b/c of all the options you have for sound.

Re: Crybaby from Hell

It's basically a 535Q tuned to Dime's specifications.

Re: Crybaby from Hell

Nope the dbo2 iis tuned to his specs the db01 has a greater range then the 535q and then the asthetics are different.

535q +-17 to +-1
DB01 +-18 to +- 1

THeres the frequency differences

Re: Crybaby from Hell

I worked on "Captain Crunche's" son's CB From Hell and I thought is was a great wah and had alot of tonal versatility and adjustment...I also didn't find it to be any noisier than the other Vox/Crybaby(Dunlop) wahs..

Might become a collectible someday also?

Re: Crybaby from Hell

Does anyone know if they'll continue to make that wah? I do like the look of it.
By the way, what's the difference between the two Dime wahs, besides the color of the cammo?

Re: Crybaby from Hell

gearjonser...you'd want the DB01 crybaby from hell this is the fully loaded model with all the buttons and knobs you would ever need. the other is the DB02 dime crybaby which is just pre set to dimes favorite sounds so they say with no fancy buttons and knobs to fiddle with. there is a $30 price difference b/t the two. yeah they look real killer in person and the skateboard grip tape works much better than rubber IMO.

i bought one when they first came out. really liked it the only problem i had was the plastic part where you can tighten it up busted apart one day when i turned it on. i emailed dunlop but never got anything back. i do plan on buying another one

Remember when I asked you about modifications to my Crybaby wah? Well, I decided against because for the harder, less in need of a large sweep wah sounds (more "precise", I guess is a better word) it works great. I also like the sound I get out it, so you know, why bother with a mod?

I was thinking of investing in another wah though, and having you do your magic on that...probably sometime in the next 2 or 3 months, if possible. The Dime looks very promising simply because of the huge sweep, but what kind of mods would you do on it? what kind of re-tuning does it need?
Follow up questions:

1. what wah would a good candidate for your mods

[this one is for anybody] 2.What wah's are a little tonally differant than the Crybaby (Dime, or otherwise) that I should take a look at?

And the rest a' ya'...thanks for the advice/reviews!
