CTS Push/Pull Pot Wiring Help - Black Winter

Hi Everyone -

I have an issue with a 1 Volume - 1 Pickup guitar. Installed a Seymour Duncan Black Winter with a CTS Push Pull pot.

I followed the wiring instructions for Push/Pull coil split and the push pull works in reverse. When it is pulled up it is in humbucker mode and when pushed it is in single coil mode.

On the pot :

Red and White from pickup- C1

Green and Bare from pickup - 2 - and back of pot

Pot Lug 1 - from pickup Black

Pot Lug 2 - Hot Out to Jack

Pot Lug 3 - to case ground

I am too stupid to figure out how to get it in humbucker mode when push in and single coil mode when pulled out

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you !

Re: CTS Push/Pull Pot Wiring Help - Black Winter

You should be able to reverse the wires on Lug 1 & 3 and you will be good to go.

You're making this harder than it needs to be. Just do this:

Thank for helping folks but switching lug 1 and 3 only made it the Pot work in reverse. The issue still remains that in the pulled position is the humbucker and in the push position is the single coil .

This is a CTS Push / Pull pot and wired for the coil cut like seen below

Thanks again

Use the "Coil-split" part of that diagram. Leave the red/white wire on C1 and move the green/ground wire to "1".
