CTS push/pull pot wiring

Getting ready to wire up the Pro Line's pick guard and it originally uses a push/pull pot. I have a CTS one and am not sure how to "translate" the original pot wiring to the CTS pot.

*I did find an explanation on how the CTS pot operates.*

The CTS p/p pot is clearly labeled and works just the same as any other p/p pot. It's a DPDT with the two common poles in the center (labeled C1 and C2) and with the throws on top (labeled 1 and 3) and the throws on the bottom (labeled 2 and 4).

When the knob is pulled up, C1 makes connection with 1, and C2 makes connection with 3.
When the knob is pushed down, C1 makes connection with 2, and C2 makes connection with 4.

For convenience, CTS p/p pots have eyelets to solder to instead of lugs.

Ah! So I technically don't need to use the 3 lugs, just the eyelets? Since I don't have the preset switch, the p/p will be a coil split.

The eyelets are for the DPDT switch section; they're numbered so you can tell which switch pole each is assigned to.
The six switch poles are visible at the bottom but the eyelets make it easier to wire up.

The pot section at the top uses three standard lugs just like any other pot.

You absolutely DO need to use the 3 lugs of the pot. A p/p pot is actually 2 separate devices in a single enclosure...a pot (volume or tone) and a switch. The lugs belong to the pot and the eyelets belong to the p/p switch.

Cool. In the diagram on the tone pot, go with the Bottom for the lug wiring?
