CTS Volume Pot issue.

Hello everyone,

Got a question for you. Just replaced a knackered pot on my Gibson V, with a 500k CTS pot. All sounds good and works, however turning the volume knob up, turns it down and turning it down, turns it up.

I wired it up exactly as the old pot so scratching my head.

Can anyone help?

I would suggest you've wired it mirror image to what it was.

This is most likely the case. There are reverse pots, but it is much more likely it is wired backwards.

So basically swap the ground and live?

The outer 2 lugs need swapping.
