Re: Current Modelling/Headphone Amps
I can't say anything bad about the tonelab. How many Vox and marshall models does one really need though/
I am a Roland Cube fan personally, and IMO, unless going with something that doesn't have a speaker it is really the only legit alternative to the Vox.
Perfect set of amps and tones:
Clean - Fender Blackface/Roland JC120
A little grit - Vox and Bassman
Dirt; 3 levels - Marshall stack, 5150, and Mesa Rectifier
Also an acoustic sim if you care.
Simple fx - 1 knob for swirl and such, and another for delay/verb
Line out for recording or headphones. Available in an assortment of sizes. Some cool features on them depending on the size, like presence knob on the larger ones.
Very zen compared to the Vox. What I love is you dial in a sound in seconds. I spend way les time twiddling and way more playing.
The sounds are all very good. Even Lew approved of the Micro-cube. I'd love one for the bedroom!
