Thanks dude. Great riffs - just what I was looking for. What do you think about the CC? Do you have any clips of that for comparison?

Re: custom 5 - metal

Yes--I love the CC
My rendition of Crazy train was done on an ibanez rg321 (mahogany body)with a CC in the bridge.

Sounds like Powerman 5000.

JUST KIDDING! :chairfall
I don't have speakers here at work, will listen when I get home. :)

Re: custom 5 - metal

I like the C-5 because it's so versatile from clear and open cleans, all the way to your clip's tone. Everyone's afraid the C=5 is too vintage, compared to "metal"
pickups, but that's why it sounds better. Sometimes I think if Dimebag had a Custom or C5 instead of a Dime or Bill Lawrence he would have had a fuller sound.

You clip's tone sounded good enough for a major release, and it's a POD XT demo. Of course, real drums would help, but Garage band sounds pretty good.

What do you prefer for overall metal/shredding, the CC or C5? Can you elaborate on your preferences a little?

I don't think the CC is tight enough for that, but the C-5 has strong output and a fairly vintage tone. The Custom is one step 'more metal.' Through a highgain amp, the Custom is like EMG's with tone. :6: It's more Zakk-like. The C-5 and Custom both have about the best low end of all the Duncans. The highs are similar too, but the Custom sounds just a tad thicker. But with that, you don't get the clarity and better cleans of the C-5. The Custom, C-5, Distortion, and JB are probably the best all around Duncans for metal.

:D

I like it, good stuff. I always enjoy hearing another Dean/SD player. :bigthumb: I liked the solo, good playing. If I were going to offer any real critique, I'd say the rhythm guitar could use a bit more bottom end.
