Custom Custom

My main guitar for the past 4 years started life as a Fender Standard (Mexi) Tele, I've put a JB/59 set of SD humbuckers on it and have changed the neck to a nice solid maple copy. I want a lower tone out of the bridge p/u, would the CC be my best bet and keep the same output? I've been happy with the JB for years( it used to reside in a Yamaha SBG2000 for a long time) but after being on this forum for awhile I want a slightly darker tone. Is the CC my choice?

Re: Custom Custom

What do you mean by "lower tone"????? I am not sure if the CC is the best pickup out there for you.......it has less output than the JB.........it is darker than the JB but don't except it to have a lot of bass.....most players(myself included) find the CC to lack bass.........maybe you would like the Custom???

Re: Custom Custom

After many years of adventuring with various pickups i settled with the emg85 on all my humbucker equipped guitars.......Warm low mids enough bass and not excessive amount of treble frequencies like most other pickups. Of course it is a little bit different sounding than passives......but anyway i like actives.....As for the emg SA's i am not as fond of them as i am with the emg85........but they do cleans very well.....
You can hear a clip of the emg85 if you want at:
