Here are my modest builds. They're not fantastic but, they're good custom models for the beginner to intermediate guitarist. Bass players too.

Oooh, what are the pickups..? My Raptor is a 36 fret and has an EMG 707 in it.

Is it for the visuals? Pick tapping and/or harmonics? Or do you manage to actually finger-fret a note on those tiny frets @ 30+?

I'm not much of a solo player but, it's useful upper range solos that I write. I'm certainly no Van Halen, Vai or MAB but, occasionally I can do something like that.

It's also good for riffs on the octaves - I can get a 4 octave range using the right notes. Makes for some freaky passages.

Black Korina chambered body, Mighty Mite Neck, and Bartolini p'ups: a 1CTA in the neck, and a PFB-51 in the bridge... which may soon be swapped for a Bartolini Beast (and black tuning pegs).

very cool! ive never built one but would love to! no place to work. Your red strat looks like my charvel!

Re: CUSTOM/KIT BUILT GUITARS - IMPRESS ME

Two of my Ibanez guitars, the blue one has a custom alder body built by my Dad. It's thicker and has a rounder radiused edges. The white one started off as a 2003 MIJ RG 450 LTD. I recevied this from a friend in the US. He re-profiled the neck to be like a Wizard, and he had cut the monkey grip, and did the recessed JEM jack. I (badly) painted the body white, polished up the corroded cosmo black Edge Pro and associated hardware to a chrome finish.

My strat, Warmoth neck with stainless steel frets, MIM alder strat body, custom titanium and brass bridge, and Custom Shop customised IM1 humbucker.

I've started on the dying process too.

I've also got a Saga kit PRS style guitar, but it's pretty crappy.

I used ReRanch Nitrocellulose "Burst Amber", "Two Color Sunburst" and "Tinted Nitro Clear" (all spray cans).
As you can probably tell, the final product was meant to have a SRV look.
That last pic had terrible lighting -- the grain and finish looks way better in person.
I ended up changing the layout from the initial setup.
Decided I had enough HB and P90 guitars and didn't have a traditional strat, so I got me a loaded Fender pickguard with the Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex pickups.

Edit: BTW, Black Limba is a *b!tch* to work with lol

Les Paul-a-rama here. The Tobaccoburst is a BYOG kit.....some issues with the fir of this so hopefully it can intonate on the low E. The issues made me think that I could do a better job myself.

The Custom is essentially a 1972 limited edition 54 RI clone.
The standard is (of course) a 59 RI, built with all the right types of woods, and period accurate shape, carve etc

Guy tell me how are Mighty mite . An online store out here has began to stock them. I am looking mostly at a tele.

Re: CUSTOM/KIT BUILT GUITARS - IMPRESS ME

The strat bodies are from KnE Guitars in the US and I buy the necks and hardware from CH Guitars in South Shields, Chris is a good lad and gets the gear to you in double time.

The P-Bass and RS-1 body I found on ebay for like £20 a piece and the Warlock is a conversion job. HH to H with a full Tune-O-Matic.

Pickups I get from wherever I can.
