Custom paired with JB Jr?

My Google-fu failed.

I'm thinking about throwing one of my Duncan Customs into my Jackson Soloist. It currently has a JB and a pair of JB Jr's in the middle and neck. For a long time, I didn't care for the Jr's, but they've grown on me and I like them now. But, the JB in the bridge is a little too muddy for that guitar, because this particular Soloist is just a hair bit dark sounding. So, the Custom seems like it would be a good fit, but will it keep up with the little JBs?

Thanks. :)

should keep up fine, jb and custom arent that far apart outputwise. eq is pretty different obviously

Re: Custom paired with JB Jr?

Yeah, should be no issues. The JB isn't really muddy, so something else might be going on. The Custom is more scooped in the mids than the JB, with more solid bass to me.

It’s not muddy but the bass isn’t particularly tight. I think it’s easy for the JB to mush out during rhythm stuff unless it’s really dialed in.

But whatever the issue is, the Custom will be a great choice. It’s tighter than fat girl in spandex.

Yeah, perhaps muddy was the wrong term. But yeah, it's big and loose. Hence, why the Custom is one of my favorite pickups. Tight bottom end, and that grind/growl it has in the mids...yeah.

Thanks, folks!
