Custom Pickguards...

Since I might be acquiring FretFire's Gibby LP, I've been looking for a cool custom pickguard. Any suggestions on a place to find one? I found this and kinda like it.

Me too. I only like LP pickguards in creme or black. Other color variations just look odd to me...

What color did you have in mind?

I was thinking maybe a custom made rosewood pickguard with an inlay in it or something..

I didn't personally like the way this guitar looked without the guard, the empty screwhole really stood out IMO. On the other hand I know a lot of people are very happy with these VM Studios sans-guard.

That sounds cool. I don't think I've seen a pickgaurd like that.

Most of the custom places I've seen online only deal with plastic or acrylic or whatever, not wood.

If you make a template from another pickgaurd, you can probably do this with a router and some patience...

ebay has them, but I can't guarantee anything because I haven't actually purchased any.

Anyone ever thought a carbon fiber guard would look good? I found one for my MIM HH Strat here: http://www.cmkpickguards.com. Its 3-D mirror finish looks great against the dark maroon body color. They can make any shape you want and have other unique/ unusual materials too...
