custom sh-5 or tb-5

ive decided to swap my JB with a custom in the bridge of my les paul custom but i was wondering what the difference is between the sh-5 and the tb-5 and also how would i know which one to choose for my guitar thanks

Its all about F-Spacing, other than that, not a whole lot.

The difference is in the polepiece spacing. The SH-5 has regular humbucker spacing, the TB-5 has wider polepiece spacing to suit Floyd Rose and other tremolo bridges. If your Les Paul has a regular Gibson bridge you should get the SH-5. Here's some more information including tips on working out which one you need:

yeah you gotta be careful because the new gibsons that have a 498T or 500T series pup in the bridge are actually tremspaced
I sold a 490T by gibson that came from a SG and it was a tremspaced pup :burnout:
