D-activators and nailbombs on my mind

I'm gonna buy a new Ibanez s2170FW, but I'm not fond of the stock PUs. I'm looking to replace the humbuckers first. I'm looking for high output humbuckers that are dynamic, because I love to change up my pick attack, and I like orangic sounding pick-ups.

My styles are generally Newer Metal types, Stoner, blues, and ALT.

So I'm looking for feedback on the BN nailbomb set and the Dimarzio D-activator set. I used to be really into duncans, but they seem to leave me wanting lately.

I don't personally have $250 to spend on BK pups, but I have heard that the Maracle Man is like the nailbomb with more cut. judging by the ultrabright D-activator that you are looking at I think you might like the slightly brighter BK-MM.

If you're looking at pickups that ape the EMG tone, why not just get yourself some EMG's?

Try out a set of Blackouts, esp the neck pickup in the bridge position.

I personally didn't like my Nailbomb, and definitely didn't $200 like it. It's not a very modern sounding pickup, at all. The descripition on the site makes it sound much, much heavier than it really is for some reason.

I hated the D-Activators I tried in the Xiphos, fwiw. Just sounded super cheap/sterile, overly hyped in the high end.

if you wat something organic get the nailbomb's they have enough gain, the clean up nice they split well. and sound killer

that is actually rather what I am looking for, a vintage alnico v sound that is really hot, with more bass and mids than a JB

if you don't mind the parallel axis look, the blues sacreno model may be what you're looking for, but I personally don't have any experience with it. If I were you, I ask around about it, it may be a less expensive option to get what you want.
