Not quite. I traded it with a friend for this

Hard ash ibanez roadster body. Maple neck and rosewood board. This one was just for fun. Goes with a wilkinson trem.

Solid rosewood body and board, mahogany neck. Heavy as hell. Will lose the 23rd and 24th fret and will get some singlecoils. Bright voiced to compensate for the fattness.

Alder strat with 1/8 inch maple top and maple neck. Will get a gotoh 6 point trem and 3 singlecoils. Not noiseless. Just plain ol singlecoils.

Re: dalicaster is a goner

The grain in that ash body is something else. Love it.

Looks like you've got some fun ahead of you.

Re: dalicaster is a goner

That ash guitar used to be solid black. Perhaps thats why it is a 3 piece? I decided to get an ssl5 pearly set for that one. I think it will be awesome. Hot yet chewy vintage.

The grain of the ash is enhanced. It got a mahogany coloree grainfiller. I sanded it down and shot 1 layer of clear nitro. Its essentially what john mayer wanted. The feel amd idea of no laquer but yet soome protection (heard him say that in an interview once).

I ordered 3 sets of tuners. Kluson by gotoh. 3 output jacks and bone nut
I have the rest already. Pots knobs and switches.

Re: dalicaster is a goner

Roadstar/Blazer ftw! Yeah, I know, they were called Roadsters very briefly when they came out.

It's somewhat rare to see an old Ibanez with a body comprising less than three pieces. There are examples, of course, but a 3-4 piece body is most common. Anyway, not that it matters if it sounds good; and most of those old Ibz axes are great.

The rosewood body is insane!

Cool guitars. What is the Dalicaster?

In january '12 forum member posted a link to ebay with a warmoth strat. I misunderdtood his intentions. I thought he posted it for everyone's benefit when in fact he postre it as a vehicle for his thoughts: to buy or not to buy, that was the question. I made the choice easy by buying it hence spurring the term 'orpheo'd', to enter forum vocabulairy just like a thread without pics or a possibility for trolling is called iceman'ing, if I recall correctly.

I am thinking of refinishing that ash guitar. In my opinion, a strat with a rosewood board should have egg shell pink as a finish and a maple board daphne blue. My 2 favorite Fender colors. But... I like daphne on rosewood too! Oh well. Most likely daphne or a superlight shade of blue.

Dali posted a link to an E-Bay auction with a Buy It Now price, asking for opinions. Orpheo bought it, and then openly bragged about it in the same thread. Hence the term for getting swooped on in this manner: getting "Orpheo'd."

In my mind, swooping alone is a mere Half-Orpheo move, which is not really a dick move in and of itself. To me, open dickishness about it after the fact is required to make it a "True Orpheo," or "Full Orpheo," though for others, just the swooping is enough to warrant use of the term.

Re: dalicaster is a goner

You are forgetting that when I read it he had knowledge of the axe for almost 2 days and hadn't replied in the topic for almost 8 if memory serves. He had his chance. And if I knew he was still ogling the guitar I wouldn't have snagged it. So toss off with the term. A case of bad communication and understanding caused it. No malice or foul play was intended and you make it into this huge thing. Let it go.

Nah dude you have a poor memory. You snagged it like 6 hours after Dalis last post on it he even posted that he thought he would pull the trigger on it. None of this "2 days" malarky. Dali didnt care so much. The reason the term got burned so hard into the forum lexicon was cause of your reaction. But you cant seem to wrap you head around that even now reading your reaction to this. But eh what do I care for me it was just another entertaining episode in this forums history.

Re: dalicaster is a goner

@Itsabass: Oh yeah, I remember that incident now. When I first read the OP for this thread I was thinking that it was some type of Salvador Dali inspired guitar. Would have been way cooler if it was.

Re: dalicaster is a goner

why does that tele have a neck with a fret board that extends over the pickup route?
