Re: Dammit, it got away.

US Schecters are killer. My tele is a Los Angeles Schecter, and it's equal to Anderson and Suhr. The imported Schecters are more akin to PRS SE and Carvin. You might want to Email the guy who ended it early, because it's possible he just yanked it so he wouldn't have to give it away for $500.
I know you already have/had a Carvin 7 string, but there's a mahogany one in the recycler for cheap right now, if it's not gone already.

Re: Dammit, it got away.

I'd be e-mailing the guy if I had any more cash...though honestly I couldn't offer any more than 600 at the moment ;). Was a little far-fetched, but I was gonna see if I couldn't do a little deal-shopping. Mighta been able to bid a little higher if I sold a couple more things in the trading post before bidding ended.

As for carvin sevens...I dunno. Changing pickups in em is a pain in the ass. Unless its a REALLY good deal...otherwise it can be a little bit of a hassle ;).

Re: Dammit, it got away.

I always liked the Schecter Avenger body style, now that'd be a sweet 7-string.

They actually have Avenger-7's... all over ebay, go for like 200 bucks, too.

Unfortunately they pretty much blow... cheap ply-basswood bodies, potmetal hardware, etc.

Now, they did for about half a year make an A-7 Elite... Mahogany body, set maple neck, nice inlays and hardware... I'd kill for one.

All them "Revenger 7's" ya see on ebay. Yuck.

I am kinda looking for somthing that could potentially replace my carvin...I dunno what I was thinking when I checked that "floyd rose" box. So much regret. Now I know how those guys that routed out their pauls for trems felt like once the 80's was over.

Maybe I should scour ebay for more USA schecters...or maybe I should just get me a hellraiser. I dunno, EMG's is a pretty big jump for me...Could just get a hardtail DC747. eh.

Re: Dammit, it got away.

Why don't you just block the trem? Assuming the trem is the only thing you don't like about the guitar, it makes sense. If you just use wood blocks and don't glue them in place it's totally reversible also if you end up selling it one day.

I have the trem blocked off on my Peavey 7 string. It has a set of 10-52s with a 70 for the B and it's now a killer low cost axe IMO.

Re: Dammit, it got away.

There's a 7 string ESP Viper on Ebay. Going @ $600 right now. And its a real ESP, not LTD. Sick Amy Green color with Jazz/JB pups. Very nice...

It does look very nice...though unfortunately its in thailand and he's charging 125 to ship it. Still a great deal...I just can't afford it. Time to list some more stuff in the trading post...

Re: Dammit, it got away.

I just bought a Squire Showmaster 7 non trem and for a cheap guitar it is surprisingly good. The finnish is crappy but the neck is good and the pickups aren't horrible. I put a Evolution in the bridge and repotted/reversed the stock neck pickup. I tried a Blaze II in the neck but the stock was superior.
