I'm wondering if the Danelectro coolcat products are as bad as the Behringer pedals?
They look very cheap and they are as cheap as Behringer. Any experience? :reporter:

Those Cool Cat pedals are pretty solid, they are built to withstand alot and they sound good. I used to own the Fuzz, Transparent Overdrive, Tremolo, and the Vibe pedal. I never had an issue w/ any of them. Matter O fact when I ended up buying the Transparent Overdrive I was actually going to buy the MXR Micro amp, comparing them side by side the Dano Transparent Overdrive blew the Micro amp out of the water.

I have the cool cat drive pedal, the one where the circuit is based pretty closely on the OCD.
I haven't gigged with it, but it's sturdy.
The sound? Well, it's great! It doesn't have an HP/LP setting like the OCDs, but the sound is REALLY similar. Look up the youtube demos for Cool Cat Vs. OCD. Some guy A/B's em and the difference is small. The OCD sings more and sounds smoother when maxed out, but most other settings sound dang close.
It's just a good sounding overdrive. not a lot of extra mids like TS-style pedals, but it's easy to dial in a nice, warm, natural sounding crunch. PLENTY of volume boost available for gassing an amp.
I'd trust this thing without a backup and would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic OD pedal under $100.

In short, "I love mine".

I've got the Cool Cat Fuzz, I really like it. It's supposed to be a clone of the classic Peach Fuzz. I've never played that so i wouldn't know. But I really like it. They're very solid pedals. I wouldn't compare them to Behringer pedals at all. I owned the Behringer DD400, it never worked properly but I used it for a while and it sounded ok. Finally it got to a point where it wouldn't work at all. But it was 30 bucks, so i can't complain.

I really like the build and design on the Cool Cat pedals. Very solid. I also like the switch. However, I am usually annoyed that the knobs are facing the back of the pedal. You can't really see them and they almost always get pushed around, but I can deal with it.

So, in short, no way would they be equal to the Behringers. Cool Cat > Behringer.

Cool Cat > Behringer.

You have to try em out. The transparent overdrive (supposed to be a Timmy clone) is a really good booster. The Cool Cat chorus is a winner as well.

Re: Danelectro coolcat = Behringer pedals??

I just got the original Danelectro "cool cat" in a trade. It used to be an 18V chorus pedal, now the name is applied to a whole line of pedals.

It's big, heavy, and sounds good even with weak batteries! Danelectro has some cool stuff. I'm sure not all of it is golden but I like what I've played. Not in love with their cosmetic schemes, though. Too "campy" retro.

I don't like that cheap/cheesy looks. But I won't let that affect my perception of a pedal. I will go out and play one.

I know some guys who don't like the looks of the cool cat pedals so they rehoused them.

Re: Danelectro coolcat = Behringer pedals??

I'd kinda like to do that but it's just a pedal, y'know? i've got better things to spend my time/effort on.

I have to look at my guitars almost every second I'm playing them. It's essential that I can gel with how they look.
I only look at the pedal when i'm about to step on it. I can deal with it being ugly, I think.

Re: Danelectro coolcat = Behringer pedals??

I own the CC Drive, Vibe, distortion, Chorus and Fuzz,

I think those pedals looks Cute line up on a pedalboard.

Re: Danelectro coolcat = Behringer pedals??

I've owned a couple of the even cheaper FAB pedals, and they're surprisingly solid considering how much they cost. In fact my FAB chorus is still on my board, not that I use it much.
