I'm looking for a delay pedal that can handle both slapback echo (echoplexy) & short delay (cleaner, more digital sounding) modes

does this pedal fit the bill?

I've found that danelectro is better at making 50's era stuff

my other option is to get a danelectro blt & just get a digital delay later

the blt is terrible. delay is one of those effects you gotta spend some $ to get a decent one. for cheap, the Boss ones are nice, but i like the Line6 DL4

I have a Dan Echo... yeah it does the vintage thing real well. Both long delays and slapbacks with a good analog vibe, due to that Hi Cut knob. It's digital but it sure doesn't sound like it. I love it!

I second that....I use the Dan Echo pedal on occasion and I like it's warm vintage character..
