Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

Re: Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

Wierd, I was literally just looking thru some photo's this morning trying to find a pic of something, and I ran across some UGD photo's. Here's one from May 05' of Dave's ESP when it/he were out in Santa Barbara for UGD. It was getting one of the versions of the prototype Mustain's installed. It was up at Scott Miller's desk. You can see Jolly's nugget at the bottom of the pic. :laugh2:

Posted by Dave Mustaine on the official Megadeth Forums

Droogies!

The ALLEGED statement of me leaving ESP is not an accurate statement "from me". It was a previous "draft" attempting to inform Dave Mustaine and Megadeth fans, and ESP fans, without leading anyone on to think something bad happened between us. It was strictly business.

Sadly, again, someone posted this misinformation elsewhere, which due to a mistake of the wrong information being posted here (which happens, . . . very rarely, but it happens) before we were able to remove it and put the authorized statement out, has led to a lot of speculation and I think it is hella kewl with the interest.

Let me assure you, the statement will be like " . . . ESP were great, the guitars were great, I wish them well, I hope we remain friends . . ."

Also, as of this second, there is NO SUCH THING AS A CONCERT FOR NAMM THIS YEAR. That part was just goofing around. I am not even signed to a new guitar endorsement deal yet, so people calling up ESP or Jackson or anyone and telling them they know were I am going is hilarious for me.

All kidding aside, I am stoked to be able to tell you soon, prolly next weekw ho I am going with. It may surprise a lot of you. It surprised me
That's wierd!

Re: Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

They've been talking about this for awhile on the Dean forums...guess some news was leaked by a friend of a friend or something a week or so ago.

I wouldn't be surprised if its Gibson..or Dean..especially Dean as they have been touting some new BIG ANNOUNCEMENT coming out next week (what a co-inky-dink).

As for the quality comparison of Jackson USA to a MIA Dean..its there. If you like short scale Gibson type instruments and Jackson's playability and attention to detail...Dean is def the company to go with.

But Dean USA, nor Gibson, does a 25.5" scale....

I would say "schecter"..but they are part of ESP now...

Re: Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

Agreed. I just reckon that's the only live Megadeth clip that would have been on MTV recently. I think they even made a big deal about 'premiering' that POS song. :laugh2:

Is there an Xbox 360 guitar? Mustaine'll let them pay him to play it.

I knew this was going to happen weeks ago. You guys are behind the times :D

Re: Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

im thinking hamer or gibson. he said itd be a big surprise, and eveything else seems far too predictable

Re: Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

[/I] I will also be re-introducing through my new endorsement many special models, including re-issues of my old models from over the span of my career, as well as some retro V shapes, similar to the formerly known Jackson Y2KV or a Gibson Flying V.

first he uses the word "reissue". If it's a brand new brand, he can't say that legally.
then he says "over the span of my career". well, he was with jackson most of his career. there's no "span" with other brands.
then the surprise part, it wasn't pretty when he left jackson cos he offered to buy the company but didn't take. fender outbid him. :laugh2: he loves jacksons.
dean's are too expansive. bad business move.
gibsons come with so many established design factors, head stock, inlays,... they are not gonna design a new inlay for him.
ibanez is possible. washburn? GC doesn't carry washburn. end of story.

Re: Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

I just talked to a buddy who used to be a roadie that's still friends with some of Mustain's roadie's. His new guitar endorsement will be Daisy Rock.

Well, that will definitely surprise everyone, like the website said it would :D

So his will be "flower of death"? :laugh2:

Re: Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

Brings new meaning to the word phrase "Flower Power". I suspect the first model will be the "Black Rose Of Death"

Re: Dave Mustaine dropped the ESP endorsement!

Picking is my business... and business is good.

Deans are too expensive?

The MIA ESP Dave Mustaine model guitars both retail for $3,999 and up. $3,999 for the DV8, and $4,499 for the Axxion.

MIA Deans would retail for similar prices. I don't see how a signature Dave Mustaine Dean guitar would be "too expensive."
