Re: Deal of the century?!?!

I really like the body of the strat on the very left, it obviously needs a maple fretboard for my test, but its got very Mathias Jabs look, which got me into strats in a first place. Is it MIA ???

Re: Deal of the century?!?!

details? Also, do you plan on leveling the neighborhood with those 5150s?

Re: Deal of the century?!?!

Dude, you know you have to get another cab now right?

Run those bastards in stereo with the volume CRANKED!

And where the **** are you finding this stuff so cheap lol?

Re: Deal of the century?!?!

holy crap.... you got a 2nd 5150 head so quick...... the jackson and fender are nice, but what was the price on the 2nd 5150 head? I know you rae shopping ta a pawn shop... makes me wonder if the stuff is hot or something.... the cops raided my favourite pawn shop so much they shut it down...

Re: Deal of the century?!?!

Ya know, the other day I tripped over a dime and found a bogner uberschall underneath it. Unfortunately a little green fairy grabbed it before I could do anything. Saddest day of my life.

Yeah man, this has to be hot.

Re: Deal of the century?!?!

ok honestly dude, did one of your buddies leave them at your house...or did you hit up a bank or something :laugh2:

Re: Deal of the century?!?!

ROFL!:laugh2: I'm glad you guys are sharp! No photoshopping here, just me being a wanker!:chairfall :fing25: My best friend Scott, the one who sings in Unending Blame, he's been needing a guitarist forever, and now that I've got professional gear, I'm in!:fingersx: The 5150 is my friend Phil's, he's the other guitarist, I retubed it for him, and trouble shot his FX loop. The Jackson is his too, I'm replacing the volume pot for him because it's flaky. The green Srat, OTOH, I picked up at a pawn shop the other day, and it is definitely for sale. Actually, both strats are for sale. I finally realized that the small frets just aren't my thing, so those will be up in the Trading post soon. $450 plus shipping takes 'em both!:27:

One thing I noticed while going between the 5150's, is that Phil's 5150 is way darker and has more gain than mine? I even had them dialed in with the EXACT same settings, through the same cab. His is darker, with more gain, but not as articulate and defined. Mine is brighter and crunchier, with less gain, but much more articulate and defined. This is all at bedroom levels though, which brings me to my next point. Cranked in the practice shed, the difference is much more apparent. Mine is much crunchier, and has a tighter bottom end, with way more low end punch. He's just sounds a little weak. Is there something obvious that I'm missing? Although he is running his through an Ibanez "Toneblaster" cab!:27: We've got the same tubes and everything, Groove Tubes in the pre and power section. Any thoughts? They both appear to be stock.

And thanks for not lynching me!:fing25:  I don't think I could handle that much amp!:laugh2:

Edit: Damn you Gearjoneser! One day I'll getcha'!:fing25:

Re: Deal of the century?!?!

It could still be the tubes, today's production tubes vary quite a bit even if it's the same vendor and model, so that could be it... or yours are just broken in already and his are not... dunno ;)

Re: Deal of the century?!?!

See, that's the thing, instead of paying me, he paid me with tubes!:laugh2: So I put a full set of Groove Tubes in both of our 5150's, with the same settings and everything! It's killing me how they could sound so different!:smack:

Re: Deal of the century?!?!
