Dean Cadillac Korea/usa Made . Need Info :)

i received some Unholy money here and i think i´ll purchase a Dean Cadillac .
i would liek to know from you users that own one of the models, korean or usa or japan or whatever..
which exactly model feautures the MAHOGANY Body, and what model featues the basswood body.
and how much for each one.
i´m thinking in getting a korean made one, but i want mahogany, no ****gin basswood body.
any tips!?

The Cadillac Select has a mahogany body with mahogany set neck. The Cadillac X has a basswood body with a bolt-on maple neck. All of the USA models have mahogany bodies and mahogany set necks. Whichever one you get, I'm sure you'll love it, man. Especially those USA made ones. Top notch stuff there, man, whether you get a Korean import or a USA made model. Dean's got the goods.

Okay, then, why bother posting here? No offense, but it doesn't make sense to ask this and when I answer your question, you're just going to go and check what someone else says. Why not just ask them in the first place?

Sufferinwind pretty much nailed it, WFD.

I played the high end Korean and it rocked. Even the stock Dean humbuckers were decent, but I imagine you want something heavier ans, well, unholy. :burnout:

yah, i´m pretty much loving MAHOGANY.
that ´s why i asked.
if possible, i would liek to have a korean made dena, but with mahognay body.
and not that poor cadillac X design.

Every Cadillac Dean makes with the exception of the Cadillac X is mahogany body and neck. Most have maple tops, but there are a couple that don't.

JP, not much to add other than the caddy I saw the other night was dang near flawless, and very resonant. As stated "dean has got the goods" for MIK imports.

But I'd also tell you, that I had to email the Dean Forums webmaster after I signed up. I never got the activation email they were supposed to send..may be a glitch in their system. Then the fellow over there got me hooked up real quick.

You may wanna shoot them an email!

but, i´m now in doubt about the MIK body woods.
i thought they were all basswood.
i´ll post 2 pics here. the first one is the model i DO NOT WANT.
and the second pic is the model i want.
but i NEED a mahogany one. on the last case, i could get a a basswood one. but i highly preffer a mahogany one.

The selects (MIK) are mahogany. As are "79 series" guitars.

The only ones that use Basswood are the really inexpensive models ($150 to about $300 US), and I do believe most of the cheapest Deans are chinese. The higher end imports I believe are all MIK, but I'm not positive.

The 2nd one is a Cadillac Select - which is made in Korea and has a mahogany body, maple top (laminate). the Cadillac X is Chinese and basswood. I think the Select retails for around US$500 or roundabouts.

I'll repeat...

The ONLY Dean Cadillac made of basswood is the Cadillac X. Every other Cadillac Dean makes is mahogany. Most have maple tops. There are a couple that don't, though.
