I've been looking at those for a while. I was thinking of picking one up, until i saw the price tag.
LOL....yeah, I think they're about $5000 aren't they?

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

As much as people bring up Michael Schenkers name around here....I'd have thought more people would have dug this guitar.

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

i wonder how that import will be... that black and white just looks classic

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

I have played this guitar and IMHO, it is way overpriced and does not compare at all to the old Gibson V's that Micheal is famous for, and got his best tone with. From what I hear, Dean gave Micheal a much better endorsment deal than Gibson, and due to the fact that Micheal was broke not long ago, he needs the cash.

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

Michael has always been my fav player. I was sad that he didnt go with a Gibson but I plan on checking out one of the Deah guitars when I get a chance.

I figured both of those were pretty much the case.

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

I am waiting for Guitar Asylum to get them in and see what they are like. I am interested but I don't need a wall hangar and I doubt I would take that out much. Maybe I'll look into the Customor the Standard version which should be considerably more affordable.

On a side note did anyone see Epi is releasing the '67 V in the MS black and white scheme?

I believe it was $4999 in my Musicians Friend Catalog, but they're only making 100 of them.

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

oh i dont know?, your catalog must of had a differnt model?, this info was from the dean site.

You're correct. I must've misread my catalog. Here's the specs and price on the USA model:

Schenker custom wound pickups "USA MADE"
Mahogany Body and Neck
Classic Dean "V" Neck Profile
Custom Black and White opposing binding: Body and Head
Ebony Fingerboard
Pearl Block Inlay
Case Included
Set Neck Construction
Sug. Retail $3799.99

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

There is the USA model and the Limtied Edition USA model. The Limited is the big, big dollar one.

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

I hate the headstock on those, it's the wrong way round! Completely ruins the aerodynamic look of the V! :smack:

I can't understand why any Schenker fan would buy one of those over a Gibson V, which after all is the guitar he made his reputation and all his great recordings with. He needed money so he signed a deal with Dean, but don't we all associate Michael with Gibson Flying Vs?

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

I saw them both at NAMM, the custom looks tits and I would mind one, but they are expensive. The standard doesn't interest me, it's stripped down and IMO doesn't look as cool.

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

I'm probably one of schenker's hugest fans. I tried one of the new deans and there just ok and way over priced. Not only do they not compare to Schenkers early Gibsons but they can't even run with the early Deans. Schenker had a couple of foolish moments in his jouneys. One was selling his V's on ebay the other was releasing the ufo album sharks, that album sucks.

Re: Dean Michael Schenker V's

Mike certainly has had his share of ups and downs.
This Dean endorsment is not one of his best decisions.
