fingerboard is what keeps me from buying it..i wont play anything but ebony and the last time i checked they just came with rosewood :-\

Dean makes some of the best guitars for the $$. Outstanding attention to quality and detail in the instruments. I don't know why Dean gets such a bad rap, they are doing the same thing that Hamer is doing, and have been doing it since the 70's. They've had big name endorsers, including Dime recently (RIP), ZZ Top, Heart among others.
I love my Hardtail. Quality is right up there with PRS and other top end builders. Nothing wrong with them at all.

Even the Korean one's are top notch. And if you ever run across one that was made in the Czech Republic, snap it up. The QC is excellent....Dean makes sure that what they put their name on stacks up. I would put them up again'st the quality of any import you want to name.
