Decided on this instead of the Ibanez Pat Metheny model!!!

Feast your eys on this. This is the actual guitar I bought. It's shipping from a guitar center in Florida, so I am waiting on it. I think I will like this better than the Pat Metheny guitar I was looking at. One factor that helped decide this as well was seeing an example on-line of a Gb-10 George Benson Ibanez. I zoomed in on that picture to look at the inlays. The 2nd and third inlay down from the nut were crooked, especially the 2nd one. That did it!! I bet they wouldn't hand a guitar with crooked inlays to Goerge!! And for both the cost and name association of such guitars that is in-excusable!!! anyway feast your eys on the beauty!!!

Judging by all the curly cosmetics there, it must cost you a ton!
Congrats!

Dig that fiddleback flamed maple.

We will, of course, require pics and clips when you receive it.

Talk about a great backside!

That kind of guitar shows distinction, taste, and is a sign of a player who knows what he likes, and likes it a lot.

Well done.

Wow, that is a classy, beautiful, and well put together instrument! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Glad you decided to step up to something better.

That is very lovely. Hows it sound?

I will let you know in a few days. I found it on guitars center website. It was listed under "platnum guitars" which is where the high dollar top notch instruments are listed from different guitar centers all over the country. I went to my local guitar center which usually doesn't have many high dollar instruments (mostly mid-level stuff) and got it through them as I had something to trade in on it. The guitar is coming from florida and is being shipped to my local store at my request. It will either be here friday or most likely monday. The manager at my store said what I bought was a family heirloom quality instrument and that they want to make sure everything is right on that instrument before I take it home.
There was one I liked the back on better that was supposed to be the same color but was more orangish in color. I decided that I am not going to be looking at the back as much as the front and that it might be better to go with the one that had maybe a bit less flame coverage to get a color that I wouldn't get sick of.

Thank you my friend. I have wanted a PRS for a very, very long time!! And not something run of the mill. I think I will be much happer than if I had gotten the Metheny guitar. I think this guitar has the combination of elegence and power. I wanted a top notch jazz guitar but, from what I have been hearing this thing is very versital. The descriptions of the pick ups make me think this guitar is just gonna purrrrrRRRRR!!!!! The versiatility is great but my bottom line was Jazz!!!

I think I will be too!!!Ican't wait to get my hands around that neck and start popin octaves with my thumb!!! And then slide into some melodic runs. I imagine this will be the nicest instrument I have ever owned!! It has been a long time in coming!!!

Ma,n that's a nice guitar!!! Congrats! Is that a Private Stock?

Re: Decided on this instead of the Ibanez Pat Metheny model!!!

Holy **** man. I've never even played an instrument as nice as that.
Can't begin to imagine how it must feel like. Congratulations!

Re: Decided on this instead of the Ibanez Pat Metheny model!!!

congrats
enjoy - i am sure you will

its funny though - i have played all 3 guitars you mentioned in this thread - the GB, the PM and the PRS ... they sound nothing alike (so the right answer is buy all three :D )

the PRS will be most versatile for sure ... will adequately cover essentially anything but the most twangy country and the most blistering metal ... the PM and the GB are closer to each other with the PM being a little more 'present' - both are obviosuly stellar for jazz ... i still jones for a blonde gb10 with flatwounds - i have since i saw the cover of 'breezin' ... getting to play george benson's gb-10 and gb-20 backstage at his show a few years back was a real treat to remember (courtesy of the SDUGF's own larrytech)

That's very pretty. If it's anything like the ones I have, I think you're going to love it.
