Delay Pedals!?

Hey guys

I think i want a Delay pedal :laugh2:
Its proboboly the only effect I have about 2 minutes total use time ever, I've always loved the sound of people playing em but never really played one myself,Last time i messed with delay and a slide and wow! :rolleyes:
The only ones I know of are the Boss DD-3 and DD-6..
I really like the features of the DD-6 but not sure if its worth the extra cash, as I'll most probobly be looking to pickup a Boss GT-8 mabye used in about 3 or 4 months time.I Have a music practicle coming up too at the beginning of April and the though came that I could use some Diddley-O-Delay for it :)

Any other pedals I should consider? I guess I don't wanna pay too much then since I hope to get a GT-8 later on..
I may just wait around til someone puts one in the Trading post as I usually see alot of em around there and I'd liek to deal with a forum bro for one :dance:

Okies, i jsut seen some at the Gear page and theres a dd3 and dd6 with $40 difference
Think it may be worth it? $70 and $110?

DD-3's are pretty much the standard delay pedal. The DD6 is cool, but if you were to go into the price range I would pick up the Line6 Echopark.

Ok so DD-3 it is then..

Yep I'm not really willing to spend too much on a delay pedal so your saying I can't realy go wrong with a DD-3??

i love the DD-5 that Stevo32 gave me! works great! even tho im still experimenting! since now i have an adaptor, i don't have to worry about the batteries draining!

I would check here: http://harmony-central.com/Effects/Data/ before I made any decisions. I was leaning toward a Line 6 also, but they scared me off of it. I went with the Boss DD-20 instead, and it's an excellent pedal. It's got many of the same features, and according to the user reviews, a lot more solidly built.

I've heard good things about the Line6 DL-4, but I've heard some bad things about the Echo Park.

Personally, I use a DD-20 and it's awesome, but I'd easily use a DD-3 or DD-6 if neccissary.

probably one of the best sounding and most versatile delays i know of is the digitech digital delay, the x series one has lots of different types of delays and is very versatile, ive even used it to back me in a song by playing a lead part then playing the harmony it will act as a second guitarist since theres quite a bit of delay time available and theres a sampler built in for loops, I like the analogue setting, simply marvelous. its also got stereo outputs if needs be and its built really sturdy and strong, i have to admit though it does eat batteries really fast so an adaptor is a must, one new (high quality) battery probably last 1 gig, im not 100% but i would not risk it. i prefered it to the line 6 echo park and to the boss delay i tried (not sure which one) but im very happy with it, ive had it about 2-3 months and it never siezes to impress me

I love my Line 6 DL4. Three presets, the loop that Mincer mentioned, tap tempo, true bypass, stereo outs, and the ability to chose from 12 different delay types. I paid $150 for mine and I've never been more pleased with a delay pedal.

These are good sounding pedals, but from what I gather have a reputation for dying.

My favorites are the DD20, on the high end, and the Danelectro Dan-Echo, on the cheaper side. I've been using a Dan-Echo since they came out. It's very simple, sounds great, and hasn't had a problem since I got it. That's 2-3 times a week playing for like 6-7 years. I know the Line 6's sound cool, but I've heard a lot of people have reliability problems with them. As far as the lower end Boss pedals go, they don't sound as sweet to my ears as some of the others, but they are as reliable as anything else.

Now I have GAS for the DD-20, especially for the benefits of it being good looper!
Tho there not "too" much more expensive (considering If I bought one used from the states) so i guess now I'm gonna have ta throw money's at one...
I wouldn't have considered it only that the GT-8 doesn't have a long looper (ive heard only 2 or 3 secs) and its standalone so Could be brought anywhere..

And to anyone with the DD-20, Hows it for say twiddling with mid gig??
The 3 and 6 dont look as easy to fiddle with but does that second pedal on it have a function??

Actually, the Line6 is a lot more intuitive as a live looper. You also get more diverse delays, like reverse and 'sweep' delays (kinda like an autowah on the repeats). The line6 can be true-bypass or not, you decide- i use it in 'non' mode so the delay trails off when you shut it off. The looper can go up to 28 seconds too.

Hey mincer, Do You own a DL4?
I'm thinking that I might pick that up instead, The fact it has 3 seperat switches for different settings and then a seperate for tap tempo i think is really cool.
