Deluxe Electric Mistress VS Poly Chorus VS Flanger Hoax

I'm really GASing for some more modulation right now, and I've recently been getting back into my EHX stuff so I'm wanting opinions on these. I've played and owned loads of EHX pedals over the years, but never these three.

Anyone ever compared the three?

The Poly Chorus has 'filter matrix' and 'flange' modes.... so does this mean it does everything the Deluxe Electric Mistress does and more? Or are the filter matrix and flange modes very different from the DEM?

And the Flanger Hoax... I hear this has volume drop issues on certain settings - how bad is it?

Any opinions on any of these pedals would be gratefully received!

The Poly Chorus flange and filter matrix modes are the same to my ears as the Flange and Filter Matrix modes on the Deluxe Electric Mistress but it adds a Chorus mode as well as a Double Tracker mode...FWIW, these are 2 of my favorite flange style mod pedals...the Flanger Hoax is a new EH things and to be honest I've not even tried it.

Thanks for that, I figured that might be the case. Seems like the Poly Chorus is the better deal then, to get 2 additional modes for not much more money.

The Flanger Hoax really intrigues me because it seems as though the possibilities would be almost endless, but it concerns me that I keep hearing about volume drops and high background noise.

I thank this guy for getting me turned on to EHX pedals. I picked up a DMM almost 2 years ago, then a small stone nano, and a few months ago the Deluxe Electric Mistress.

I love the Electric Mistress, everyone who hears it, guitar player or not, is hooked on that watery, lomping cam sound. I love to run my guitar into it, then my DMM into my SF Super Reverb....sounds heavenly. Probably my favorite clean...er non-distorted sound.

The filter matrix mode is cool too, but I don't use it a whole lot.

I got my Deluxe Mistress today and I'm very impressed with the range of sounds you can get out of it.

at the moment it sounds like an organ!

It is indeed a cool pedal but if you want the extra sounds the Poly Chorus is the ticket...I used to have a Poly Flange from the 70's, same pedal as the Poly Chorus and loved it...when it went bye, bye I replaced it with the Electric Mistress and I've never missed the opther sounds but they are nice!

Hi all, so I bought a EHX Stereo Electric Mistress. Is it just me or is there a little background noise. Something like the flanger. I am using the original power adapter. So...anyone else experiencing such background noise?

Noise is the reason I have not used EHX in years. When I started playing, they were the least expensive pedals on the market but always noisy. I have heard they have gotten better over the years, but I just don't trust them anymore.

In the meantime I discussed with other more experienced guitar players from Romania. One of them even sold hos deluxe ehx in the 90 s because he thought the noise indicated a broken unit. He got a new one.
Bottom line... Little noisy unit.
