"Deluxe" Truss Rod Cover?

Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.

The truss rod cover on my LP Deluxe is starting to crack by where the screw-holes are (seems to be a somewhat common problem with Gibsons). Not a big deal, but I figure it's an easy fix, right? Just get a new cover for 10 bucks.

Only problem is I can't find one anywhere online. Gibson currenlty sells "Standard", "Studio", "Custom" and blank truss rod covers but no "Deluxe". I asked Gibson customer service and they just sent me to allparts.. which I had already checked and doesn't appear to have any.

Anyone know where I can get a Gibby truss rod cover that says "Deluxe"?

Cool - I don't know why I didn't check ebay to begin with... just found some guy on Ebay that sells pretty much every Gibson truss-rod cover imaginable.
Hell, he's even got one that says "Marauder".. haha. :smokin:

They may not be authentic Gibson parts.. but they look correct to me.

ES350, how would you suggest fixing the one I have? Krazy glue? It's basically splitting by both holes.. but it looks like the plastic is slightly distorted so just gluing it might not look right..

Re: "Deluxe" Truss Rod Cover?

Black CA (superglue) from Stew Mac, then re-drill the hole.

If you believe Dan Erlewine, you can fix pretty much anything with superglue.

If it were me, I'd just order one off eBay, but then I'm a "close enough" kinda guy. Some people might look down upon a non-Gibson replacement, so don't throw that original away.

While you're ordering, get one for a Maurauder. Put that on there, and wait for people's weird reactions.

The truss rod covers for my SG and LP Special are cracked too..in the same basic places.. must just be something that happens to that plastic.

I also wonder if the fact that every guitar tech who's worked on my guitars seems to one of those power drill screwdriver attachments. Putting the cover back on after a rod adjustment they may just go in little too tightly.

I love the idea of putting a "Marauder" cover on there just to confuse guitar geeks.. haha. I actually used to have a Marauder - twas a weird beast of an axe. :eyecrazy:
