Demon SH-12 + Dimebucker SH-13

Well I never tried something of the Bill Lawrence/ Wylde stuff and I am sure they will match even better, but I never have seen this combo mentioned before so I though I throw it out there.

Had a lot of pickups in this guitar already (AHB-1s, EMG 60/81, AHB-3s, SH-6s) and while they all where good (except for the first one) this combo seems to be the winner so far.

Guitar doesn‘t have a huge lowend, and not very bright so the EMG 81 was a bit thin in this.
AHB-1 still bloated and out of control (also an Amp thing).
AHB-3 sounded great and a lot of fun, but they have a bit of a wah quality to them? and still too hot. Traded them original for EMGs and sold them with quite a bit of Profit, so definitely a good experience!
SH-6 was really fun to play, nice thumping low end. I’m comparison to others it‘s quite fizzy and scratchy and the bass makes the distortion also kind of rough.

The SH-13 is kind of over the top with it‘s huge EQ spread but I love it. There is something super clean (no grainy mids) and precise to it. It‘s bright but doesn’t sound sterile or thin. Need to spend more time with it (I have briefly tried it before) but i dig it so far.

I tried the SH-12 as neck pickup before and liked it already. The Bridge pairings (with itself for example) I tried weren‘t to my liking though. Now it‘s a great match. Perfect volume balance and also tonal match. Not too big of a Bass loss/gain and they are also similar in the tightness feel.

Middle position quacks like crazy, not sure of that though.

will remove the pickguard protection foil at one point

Looks cool! What guitar is that?

The time I remember trying the Dimebucker, it was too much for me. But I'd love to give it a second chance. The one guitar I tried it in was VERY picky with pickups, and almost everything I tried in it sounded thin and weak for some reason.

It's an Explorer build by myself. Didn't want to spent the cash for a real gibson of that guitar, so that kind of started it for me.

I followed your thread with the D-activator replacement (nazgul, SH-6 etc.) and i though maybe Dimebucker for you, but i think it was already mentioned.
Yeah i have a guitar i used to test all my Pickups in. It's kind of neutral sounding (nothing overbearing) but could use some more sparkle. Lots of PUs sounded boring. Guess what, i kind of find the unplugged sound also kind of boring, although there isn't anything bad really.
i guess we shouldn't make a final judgments on a Pickups based on testing it in one guitar only.

I kinda want to try it in the future again. But right now, I'm kinda set with the 500T on my Strat and the Black Winter on my Les Paul.

I wanna get an SG, though. Maybe the Dimebucker would be a good candidate for that SG.

depending on the wood and Hardware a SG can be very mellow, so this might be a good candidate.
So only 2 guitars at the moment? just horrible thinking about it :D

Well i forgot to mention this guitar is tuned down a whole step (sometimes 1,5) and fitted with 12-56 strings, which might add to the SH-13 not being too bright.

Since i like the Dimebucker, i got really interested in the L-500 stuff (USA + B&B, XL and maybe L) and might check them out, or just get some fresh air...
