Diagram For LP With SH 2 & 4 Coil Split

I just picked up the SH 2 & 4 set of pup's and am wanting to coil split the SH-4. I used to have these model pup's in this guitar many moons ago wired this way and recently decided to go back to these to pups after retiring my active EMG 81 & 85. I know their used to be an old diagram which showed it in the diagrams section of the site but it seems that most of those diagrams are no longer in existance. I have found several on the web but all of them show it being done using the push/pull pots and im using a Two position double pole (DPDT) ON/ON Mini Switch. if anyone has a diagram of this they could post i would be greatful.... Also am i wrong for thinking that all i need to do to achive this is use the mini-switch to break the connection between the white and red wire on the SH-4 instead of soldering them together and insulating them?:smack:

Yes . . . you are wrong. :D You still need to connect red and white together. To split to the stud coil, you then switch that connection to ground. To split to the screw coil, you switch that connection to hot.

Also, a DPDT switch works just like a push-pull. They both have the same six terminals. You can wire it up using a standard push-pull diagram. Onlt the handle is different.

Edit: Take a look at this thread: Splitting refresher

ArtieToo, Thanks for that link! So if im understanding correctly, I will be using the mini-toggle to short the wired coil to ground in turn splitting the coil?
